Meet the team

Mark Brewster, founder and CEO

Mark BrewsterMark has spent the majority of his career leading or supporting the events industry. His tenure at Mash Media included directing their events portfolio and continued as publishing director with responsibility for their exhibition titles including Exhibition News and Exhibition World. He has also held a director role with a leading events research consultancy.

It is this passion for insight and the industry that led him to found Explori – an online research tool designed to make professional quality insight affordable for every event and conference.  Since its inception in 2012, Explori has grown to become the largest source of data for the global events industry, with over 1.5 million responses already gathered on the platform from over 1600 events world-wide.

Mark works closely with exhibition owners, marketers and event directors to help them incorporate high quality feedback into their event cycles and strategic planning and regularly contributes to industry trend articles and forums.

Nominated as one of Event Magazine’s Top 100 Newcomers in 2013, Mark’s team has grown to be named Best Supplier to Organisers at the 2015 Exhibition News Awards, continuing to grow their event base both in the UK and globally.

Away from Explori, Mark is a keen tennis player and live music fan.

Olly Watts, operations and research director 

Olly Watts operations director ExploriOlly joined Explori 3 years ago soon after Explori launched after working at various leading market research agencies (including TNS and Opinium Research). Olly is Explori's operations director and is responsible for of all of Explori's client support and overseeing its research services. Prior to a career in market research Olly studied Economics at the University of Hull.

 

 

Rory Govan, associate research director

Rory Govan, associate research directorAs an experienced quantitative researcher, Rory is responsible for Explori's full-service research projects.  He has been heavily involved with the data analysis for the UFI & Explori Visitor Insight Report launched in November 2016 and upcoming projects with FaceTime.

Prior to joining the team in our London HQ Rory spent 6 years working for a research agency specialising in higher education, where he focused primarily on graduate employability in the UK and internationally.  Rory graduated from the University of Bristol with a Bsc in Economics.

Dan Pacitti, CTO

Dan Pacitti Explori CTODan splits his time between Explori and our technical partners ASP – the leading providers of websites and digital services to the exhibitions industry.  He leads our product development strategy and ensures that our IT infrastructure is secure and robust.

Dan joined ASP 14 years ago after completing his degree in Computer Science. Dan is chief technical officer for ASP and Explori with responsibility for overseeing the maintenance and AGILE development of our products, as well as maintaining the systems and hosting infrastructure that we utilise. Over the years he has gained valuable experience and expertise in delivering high quality software solutions to the events industry.

Sophie Holt, head of marketing and communications

Sophie Holt head of marketing ExploriSophie is an experienced event marketer working with CloserStill and Future Publishing on trade and consumer events and has been an Explori user and client since launch.  Alongside managing Explori's marketing and PR, Sophie works closely with our research and operations team to produce user guides, industry reports, articles and customer updates.

Prior to working in the events industry, Sophie has worked in PR with a number of well known brands including Avon Cosmetics and Toyota. Sophie studied Zoology and Psychology at the University of Bristol.

Andrea Piccin, GRS partner and MENA general manager

Andrea Piccin, general manager GRS Explori DubaiAndrea heads up the Middle East and North Africa team out of the Dubai office for GRS Explori, a partnership between Explori and research and strategy specialists GRS.

He has extensive experience in international business development having led projects for a number of Chambers of Commerce in Australia and the US, focusing on research and events.  In addition to his work with GRS Explori, Andrea sits on the panel of the International Business Awards, judging customer loyalty and customer experience categories.  Andrea holds a masters degree in international business from Ca' Foscari University, Venice and is also a qualified sommelier.

Ulrich Besch, adventics partner and general manager D-A-CH region

Ulrich Besch, adventics Explori general manager DACHSUlrich leads the partnership between Explori and adventics.

adventics is a European management consultancy that has worked for 10 years with great success exclusively for the international exhibition industry. Based in Munich, Ulrich and his team work with organisers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Ulrich holds a master’s degree in business administration and has worked in the exhibition industry for 16 years. Before joining adventics he held senior positions at a world-leading exhibition organiser, including time spent as head of market research and business development and therefore has extensive experience in analysing trade shows and developing strategies.
