Mark Brewster, Founder and CEO

Mark BrewsterMark has spent the majority of his career leading or supporting the events industry. His tenure at Mash Media included directing their events portfolio and continued as publishing director with responsibility for their exhibition titles including Exhibition News and Exhibition World. He has also held a director role with a leading events research consultancy.

It is this passion for insight and the industry that led him to found Explori – an online research tool designed to make professional quality insight affordable for every event and conference.  Since its inception in 2012, Explori has grown to become the largest source of data for the global events industry, with nearly three million responses already gathered on the platform from over 2,700 events world-wide.

Mark works closely with exhibition owners, global heads of events and visitor attractions to help them incorporate high quality feedback into their strategic planning and regularly contributes to industry trend articles and forums.

Mark’s team has grown to be named Best Supplier to Organisers at the Exhibition News Awards, and research partner to UFI, continuing to grow their event base globally.

Away from Explori, Mark is a keen tennis player and live music fan.

Sophie Holt, Global strategy director

Sophie Holt head of marketing ExploriSophie is an experienced event marketer working with a number of respected organisers, specialising in launch events.  Over her career, she has launched 11 trade and consumer events in sectors as diverse as healthcare management and gaming.

Sophie has first-hand experience in the power of customer insight to shape event strategies that deliver sustainable growth.  She is passionate about the role of customer experience in the future of exhibitions and corporate events.

She regularly authors white papers and opinion pieces for the industry press and association bodies including the Global Visitor and Exhibitor Insights Reports for UFI, Market Monitor for EEAA and FaceTime research for the AEO.

One of Explori's founder members, developing the communications and PR strategy as we grew into a market leading position; she now works in a broader strategic role as we enter our next phase of growth.

Prior to joining the exhibitions industry, Sophie worked in PR and corporate events client-side, with a number of well-known brands including Avon Cosmetics and Toyota.

Richard Kensett, Commercial director

Richard Kensett, Comercial director, ExploriAs comercial director, Richard's primary goal is to introduce Explori to live event organisers who are looking to increase their focus on customer experience. He is also strategic lead on Explori's key accounts in the industry.

Richard has a wide and varied career in senior sales and management positions. His background is in conferences, events and exhibitions where he was responsible for sales and delivery on a global B2B portfolio.  Richard is a big football fan and you'll find him at weekends either playing for his local team, or following Crystal Palace up and down the country; which even he admits is a questionable hobby!

Olly Watts, Director of research and operations 

Olly Watts operations director ExploriOlly is one of the founding members of the Explori team, joining shortly after launch.  He has many years experience in quantitative research having worked at leading market research agencies (including TNS and Opinium Research). Olly is Explori's operations director and is responsible for of all of Explori's client support and overseeing its research services. Prior to a career in market research Olly studied Economics at the University of Hull.



Mitch Deeming, Operations manager

Mitchell Deeming senior research executive exploriHaving previously worked for a financial data provider, Mitch joined Explori in 2014 and works as part of the research and support teams. He is responsible for client training, supporting the various Explori offices globally and working day-to-day with our users to provide the best research possible using the Explori platform.

Suzanne van Montfoort, Associate research director

Suzanne von Montfoort, Associate Research Director, ExploriSuzanne is an experienced research professional who looks after Explori’s agency clients and their research projects. Her specialisms include qualitative methodologies as well creating thought leadership and industry reports.   

Before joining Explori, Suzanne delivered insight to C-suite level business leaders across a wide range of industries, investigating issues around customer satisfaction, market and competitor intelligence, and strategy.

Suzanne studied Liberal Arts at University College Maastricht, majoring in Political Science. She also holds an MA in Sociological Research from the University of Essex.


Clive Morris, Research director

Clive Morris Research Director ExploriClive has over a decade’s experience in market research and customer insight, having worked in a number of senior roles both agency and client-side across a broad range of industries including healthcare/pharma, financial services and technology.   Clive looks after Explori’s full service clients and their research projects, with a particular specialism in quantitative research studies that supply robust and innovative insight to feed into an organisation’s marketing and strategy delivery.


Prior to a career in market research, Clive studied Economics at the University of Newcastle.

Charlotte Penn, Research manager

Charlotte Penn, Senior research executive, Explori Charlotte is a skilled researcher who has quickly risen up the ranks at Explori, she is responsible for full-service research projects and leads our work in the publishing industry.

Prior to joining Explori, Charlotte travelled extensively in Asia and Australasia.



Alice Sarkany, Research executive

Alice Sarkany Research Executive ExploriAlice has quickly made her mark on the Explori research team, working across our full service and bespoke teams.  Alice guides event planners through the survey design process and the analysis of their results.  Putting her degree and research skills gained on research placements at Contigo and King's College London, she already impressing on all fronts.



Alex Temple, Senior sales executive

Alex Temple senior sales executive ExploriAlex has grown up in the events industry and has experience of the market in both Australia and Thailand.  He is responsible for growing Explori's footprint in the live events space and account managing some of our key clients.

Alex is a master scuba diver trainer, a useful skill to have on the 5th floor of Explori Towers!





Lauren Martingell, Office Manager and Executive Assistant

Lauren Martingell Office Manager ExploriA transformational presence in the Explori team, Lauren manages the logistics of a growing and globe-trotting team.  She is the primary point of contact for scheduling with the executive team and our recruitment.  In addition to this Lauren manages our credit control process and many other responsibilities that keep office life running smoothly.

Lauren is one of three psychology graduates on the Explori team.



Rupert Jackson Cousin, CFO

Rupert Jackson Cousin CFO ExploriRupert is a highly experienced financial director with experience of delivering global financial projects.  Having spent much of the last 13 years working overseas, Rupert now leads all aspects of Explori's financial function and is helping us to plan for our ambitious growth targets.

Rupert is a fan of live music and theatre.



Dan Pacitti, CTO

Dan Pacitti Explori CTODan splits his time between Explori and our technical partners ASP – the leading providers of websites and digital services to the exhibitions industry.  He leads our product development strategy and ensures that our IT infrastructure is secure and robust.

Dan joined ASP 14 years ago after completing his degree in Computer Science. Dan is chief technical officer for ASP and Explori with responsibility for overseeing the maintenance and AGILE development of our products, as well as maintaining the systems and hosting infrastructure that we utilise. Over the years he has gained valuable experience and expertise in delivering high quality software solutions to the events industry.

Andrea Piccin, GRS partner and MENA general manager

Andrea Piccin, general manager GRS Explori DubaiAndrea heads up the Middle East and North Africa team out of the Dubai office for GRS Explori, a partnership between Explori and research and strategy specialists GRS.

He has extensive experience in international business development having led projects for a number of Chambers of Commerce in Australia and the US, focusing on research and events.  In addition to his work with GRS Explori, Andrea sits on the panel of the International Business Awards, judging customer loyalty and customer experience categories.  Andrea holds a masters degree in international business from Ca' Foscari University, Venice and is also a qualified sommelier.
